The floor of BTC is mathematically && (meaning computational and not weak semantics) economically bound to Chinese electrical transmission and generation costs. IT IS NOT STRICTLY EQUAL YOU BRAINLETS There is a scaling factor, and while we can't know what that is directly we can see the aggregate effects to be $4000

I am an actual goddamm economist and this is as about as straightforward economics as there is.

>INB4 "it's lower right now durr durr"

There's random fluctuations idiot, but the market can stay irrational only so long. Right now is provably the best time to accumulate probably for the time within any of our lifetimes.

This is meaningless
Institutional money can hold it under water arbitrarily deep for arbitrarily long and flush out anyone that doesn't have the backing to pay their electric bill and run at a loss. Whoever runs at a loss the longest buy all the mining hardware at a discount.

Is it possible that the extremely low price now is due to a large mining company or two dumping to lower price to put other miners out of business?

Then those miners buy cheap asics and add to their mining power, then they stop dumping and let price climb.

every pump so far has been the result of shorts getting squeezed
To sustain price after pump, demand must outpace supply.
So far that hasn't happened, we will continue going lower. Prove me wrong.

When you produce electricity sometimes you will have extra electricity that you need to get rid of. Companies sometimes even pay to do this. So a correct long-term calculation for the cost of producing a bitcoin will have electricity at near zero.

Miners can just stop mining and the difficulty will drop. They can't mine at a loss forever. infact, we just saw the second biggest difficulty reduction in the history of Bitcoin, so clearly the cost of production is decreasing
