- Anyone here have a successful and durable experience in forex trading ?
- What's techniques did you use ?
- With how much money did you begin ?
- Gives me advice for a beginner like me, please.

I am really sad when i read specialized forums in forex, why?
Because all the trading journal I read ends the same way :
They end up losing all their gains and have their account to 0 dollars, after 6 months or 1 year.

I need testimonials from people who really live forex successfully since several years.
http://forums.babypips.com/newbie-island/70214-truth-about-forex-you-cant-become-rich.html

I think this method is the best to learn forex or index cfd:

Depositing tiny amount less than € 200 and try to make it grow until 1000, once in 1000 reached 900 withdraw.
With the remaining € 100, try to grow them again to € 1,000, remove 900 ... etc.
Do it 10 times successfully
Instead of dropping € 50,000, losing after six months, redeposit € 20,000 and lose again after one week.

bad idea

you need an actual edge, no amount of money management is going to help you without an edge... there are efficient ways of sturcturing your trade(bet) size depending on your edge - usually using a fraction of the bet/trade size as given by the kelly criterion - half kelly is quite commonly used in industry by hedgefunds etc..

OP, I'm curious to see how you have developed since you began posting these threads 6-8 months ago.

Have you had any success throughout this time period? Or have you been doing nothing and hoping someone will reveal the holy grail in one of your threads?

Check back a week later, -$1800. Immediately withdraw and proceed to never think about forex investing again.

Fib, Structural Levels, Common Sense, S/L all over the place.

Began with 2,000 last month and have around 4400 (open trades still oscillating around that mark + / - $80). Hard to make any serious profits with a micro trading account like that due to the narrow margin available, but it is possible. I've had time off from work, so I've been able to monitor my trades carefully.

Only advice I have is to practice for at least a year before you use real money, and cut your losses early on volatile markets like EUR/USD or CAD/USD. Also read an analysis a day (like what you might find on Tradingview) and test it on a demo account -- figure out what the analyst did right or wrong, and explain why the market broke their pattern, i.e. they found a cypher pattern that was eclipsed by an even more prominent retracement to a structural level.

I play a lot of poker in my spare time in order to discipline myself and become comfortable with occasional loss in the service of an overall gain, since nothing is worse in trading that a panicked mind.

so basically read some nonsense then retrospectively come up with your own little story/nonsense for whatever happened... including meaningless subjective words that other idiots are keen on

If you're a donk. Otherwise, it's one of the best vehicles.

Forex, on the other hand, you can't quantify shit. You have no concrete evidence of the likelihood of anything happening.

can someone explain to me why when I bet $1000 on a trade and it's up 33pips that only equals $2.67 profit? This is the investpedia bot.

>> No.1206159

>>1206150
you're not betting $1000 on a trade....

you're taking a position that is equivalent to buying $1000 EUR in CAD

the EURCAD rate has gone up by 0.00338

your 1000 EUR are now worth an extra 3.38 CAD

which when converted to USD at about 1.26-ish (your base CCY) is $2.67

Yeah but then i'm leveraged 100:1 so i'm essentially buying 100,000 EUR and not 1000, right? It says in the screen shot under account details that my leverage is 100:1.

Anyone familiar with investpedia know how i turn leveraging on in case it's turned of for me somehow?

>> No.1206306

>>1206163
nope you're buying 1000 EUR according to that screen shot... which again tallies with the PnL you're seeing as per my previous post

the margin you're using for that 1000 EUR position is only $11.30 - you can see that under account details

investopedia isn't going to give you instructions on how to tell you to 'turn leverage on' on some specific trading platform

if you want to trade 100,000 EUR then you'll need to enter 100,000 EUR not 1000 EUR

>the margin you're using for that 1000 EUR position is only $11.30 - you can see that under account details

just to be clear - this is a leveraged position - you're able to hold a 1000 EUR position with a mere $11.30... that is your 100:1 leverage being used
