i remember waiting outside the store as a kid when it opened to buy that brand new fully finished playstation game, then i biked home and played all that

nowadays they sell incomplete digital-only games that needs to be patched for years after release. the last 20% of the game cost extra as "DLC". no content-packed full blown "expansions" any more. they don't even contain fun cheat codes anymore, instead you're expected to buy cheats for real money in a singleplayer game to bypass intentional grind put there by the devs.

5 to 20 bucks for a fucking JPG, are you kidding me? it doesn't even wrap around polygons like the usual shitty JPGs fools buy today ("skins")

some games are still good, usally from smaller studios though. Or you wait a few years until they "finished" development on it, see civ V. Total trash at first, then once the last expansion came out it was perfect.

Fortnite is actually legit well developed though. Compare fortnite to what activision has done with their blackout mode.
