In a sense, exchanges are platforms that accept bitcoin. You can use bitcoin with certain companies that accept it, or with the dark market. Well BAKKT will be the first futures / derivative market for bitcoin that accept physical bitcoin. The volume generated by BAKKT will represent real bitcoin volume.

Now BAKKT is also trying to be more than just a futures market. It also intends to be some sort of medium for digital asset custody and exchange.
