18 billion for a free app that as no ads and no user data. Company barely breaks even. facebook doesn't even know know how it will use it to make money. doesn't offer much of an increase in communication ability for FB users.1

Did Zuckerberg goof this time?

WhatsApp is not free. It's 1$ or 1€ per year and with 200M users that is a lot.

>> No.119632

NSA paid for it.

All the pakis and durkas use WhatsApp.

Users were able to get the free app before it decided to go with that model.

Some users of the 200m will essentially not contribute to whatever revenues you think is a lot.

I frankly downloaded during that free app promotion because I was hyped by some family members. I moved on but I am sure many people recognized WhatsApp during the same time of the promotion
