I used to think like this, but then I looked at archives of /r/bitcoin and /r/cryptocurrency from 2014 & 2015. People over there were suuuper bullish through pretty much the entirety of the last bear market. They were more bullish at the very bottom of 2015 when BTC touched $150 than they are today.

/biz/ wasn't talking about crypto much during the last bear market, but I don't recall a depression phase where everyone was bearish.
