Is 5% annual profit, after taxes, a reasonable return on a stock,\bond portfolio for a enterprising investor?

What could be done to increase without too much risk?

>> No.1194789

Your question is very tricky since you said after tax. Highly variable so I can't answer.

most of my holdings are 10% p.a, after tax and fees

5% is pleb tier. too low-risk for me. might as well just let that cash sit in a long term deposit

>> No.1194856

It depends on the state of the economy friend.

8% is a reasonable return, but that's over the course of a decade not a year. 5% could be great, or it might be terrible. It's all relative.

Don't get too caught up on the year to year earnings.

>> No.1194929

Depends on your risk level. If you aren't too risky then returns will be okay. If you take some risk you can earn alot more, but also lose more.
