This has happened to me 3 times in a row this month. I'm starting to suspect someone from my list of references (from the previous places I worked at) is talking shit about me, but I don't know who exactly.

Do I have a legal case here /g/? I'm really fucking desperate for a job right now since I'm running out of savings.

So first rule never use an direct old boss as reference. Choose a co-worker who really likes you or a project manager who you delivered good work to .

Second just ask them straight forward why they rejected you. Good change you get an honest response (unless you have some disease).

Third, how is your online presence? No party pics , mugshots etc?

Dude same shit happened to me. I got a verbal offer then rescinded. Literally 5 times in a row though. I got a lame excuse from the last one that they want someonr with more experience from a bigger company.

My last boss was a psychopath and used to scream at everyone, so I used my coworkers as a reference. I have a hunch who it could be but I have no evidence. They could just be a jealous piece of shit, I dunno?

Don't reply on the rejection mail try to contact the job interviewer (preferably by email) or by a LinkedIn message. Tell them you want to learn from your interview...
