Nah. Vitalik knew he was getting more attention than he deserved. He's a genius but not infallible. A lot of things he says are wrong. The problem is that he achieved status of a 'guru' and nobody dared to challenged him. For example, his ideas on proof of stake were somewhat flawed, yet people tried to implement them as they were laid out instead of correcting then. Thid is a problem for a project that relies on the work and ideas of thousands of developers. So it's good for ethereum if Vitalik takes a break from it and lets other people take the lead.
