So, anyway... now that volatility is back, what's to stop me from just making synthetic straddles on bitmex and rake in free money?

>Go long and short BTC with reasonably tight stop losses
>Leverage whatever side has positive fees just a little more so you don't have to pay fees
>Sell the winning position on any major move as soon as it outweighs liquidation of the losing position
>Rinse and repeat

There's a 0% chance of a sustained sideways market right now

failing miserably

Also, anyone claiming that bitmex stops don't work, just don't trade 1 minute candles with 100x like a retard.

How would I do that?

so execute the plan on a short term basis with a small position and measure the results. what you'll probably find theory is always different from reality but if you do succeed that'll be justification to increase your position. let the data test your theory not shitposters.

uuuuuuh.....
actually it's pretty likely

the market is a mess now, people got their stops slipped and cry bitmex is a scam again

That's because they're shorting 1m candles with 100x leverage and setting their sell order 1 sat below the stop trigger

you speaking from experience? I had 3% slippage on eth today

I never had those problems personally, but even if you lose a few %, if you're trading hourly candles it shouldn't be a problem when BTC moves 100$.

Let us know how that goes, champ.
