Here's the thing. I do not exactly love the corporate influence over the core project. But it's still by far the best route to get worldwide adaption of bitcoin.

SegWit effectively increased block size. And you got to admit that just raising the block size really is just a temporary solution.

Hard forking and promoting hash wars is the much bigger evil in the crypto space right now, leading to FUD and a split in the community. Which in turn halts the progress of bitcoin adaption.
