The FUD for LINK in the early days (mid-to-late 2017, pre and post SIBOS) was very bad. LINK dropped from about a dollar twenty to about 17 cents over the next year. There was a lot of FUD because LINK had a two man team (only Sergey or his Philosophy Degree) and understanding him at all required reading his couchsurfing reviews and posts on business ethics. There was a whole lot of health FUD because Sergey gained so much of his initial weight on BigMac burgers (His BigMac intake Skyrocketed after the LINK ICO and into the launch of the 2 for $5 BigMac special a year later) and there was real concern the team would run out of of money long before they ended their vacations in Thailand. I remember Rory estimating they could keep silent for a matter of years, which wasnt going to be enough to soothe bizraelis or interest the public and so there was huge FUD around that. The team was also paying lots of LINK out to early supposed contributors whose contributions during the development seemed dubious at best (Remember Adelyn's Marketing?)-- that was a big deal. Then Ari Jueles, who was probably the most visible and well known Advisor person back then (other than Sergey) and was the primary Oracle evangelist left the position, which was a huge blow. In the early days things seemed pretty daunting with huge setbacks seeming to happen a lot.
It's really amazing how far LINK has come. In 2019 saying LINK would hit $10,00 seemed so insanely outlandish. And yet now it seems to still be just the start. Todays FUD is nothing, really nothing, compared to the real concerns about the future back then."
