I traded options back in the late 90's and made some good money, but now they are literally only good as buying a lottery ticket.
I don't recommend them now because volatility is very low and thus caps even your POTENTIAL profit.
Best way to look at stock options is follow many big name stocks at earnings time and paper trade the options before and after their earnings release...thats pretty much the only time options move today.
