The people that get it are buying bitcoin.

The people that really get it are buying shitcoins to get more bitcoin.

The people that don’t get it are buying shitcoins to hold them and wait for never fucking happen “flippening”.

bitcoin is shit m8. the only reason buy that is because it was the first one and the most popular. You are basically investing in MySpace

I'm doing it to get more dollars.

You could have tripled your bcore in the past year and still lose money.

If you didn't sell anything for cash above 6k you're never going to make it.

The people that 'get it' are whales playing with the few buyers left in this market. They're making gains while also slowly letting the price of BTC go lower and lower. We haven't even hit capitulation yet, so why would the people that 'get it' be buying BTC?

Idk about bitcoin but crypto will not go back to pre-boom values strictly for this reason. The environment has had too much investment put into it to completely fail.

Serious question - what is the reason for buying bitcoin? Other than speculation, what value is there?

I realise the value of crypto, but bitcoin will never fill that roll. So can someone please explain what the value is?

It's the standard against which all other cryptos' value is measured and the single coin accepted as a pair in all trades against all currencies and cryptos on all exchanges. It also has enough investor value dumped in it to go on under its own inertia.
Think gold and silver and how they are still valued as a store of value and a trading commodity in themselves, and that's even almost 80 years after the value of fiat currency was decoupled from precious metal reserves.

I'm saying as long as there's crypto and it's traded, bitcoin will be around, and valuable
For it to die, two things would have to happen: either the crypto market dying out completely; or some other coin coming around, with better ease of use, that somehow convinced all the crypto whales and exchanges to transfer their value from BTC to it
