>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

Does anyone here receive a dividend payment daily? I'm looking to find good companies with good yields and their payout schedules/ dividend growth track records. My goal is to eventually receive a dividend payment everyday. Off the top of my head I'm holding F, T, VZ, SPHD, microsoft, Intel, O, APLE, WM, a vanguard bond etf, sony, nintendo, and some uranium companies/ etf. I just scooped up some nvidia on this dip as well. I'm looking to add some apple/walmart and railroads to my folio as they all have decent yields and growth. AMRN - A gold mine in waiting. Profit aplenty. For a bit things looked bleak, the results came back, few docs said it was shit. Our hero sank overnight, lost about 20% the gains it'd made. Investors sold out, I'll admit, I was one. But then; new info saw the light of day; our hero was not shit. I bought back my shares, cheaper than the first time I may add, our hero climbed back to its rightful place. Now? 2 billion in drug sales are predicted for 2019 alone.

I dunno about what happened in 93, I can only guess. My guess is that it was like all startups; full of investor hype (like til-ray, went from nothing to $200 per, then fell back to like $30ish range), then once the hype fell flat, the stock went with it. This is the first product they've had which has shown any real potential that's backed up by data. I think since this is a small company (50 people) and that this drug has such a large profit potential, that they'll get buyout offers soon.

I don't know about where indexes are going, it's different sentiment almost every week, if I see opportunity I go in, but currently I'd rather go into GOLD since I believe there's a lot of confusion to what's going on and what's coming in future for indexes.

The last drop re-tested February top and now I'm waiting for a signal to go short (perhaps that was it, but short term), or go long if it makes new ATH.

However, all in all, I think it's going down, tech stocks crumbling, oil also and gold seems like a good indicator it's time for him from this 1200$ test (note that 1200$ is around 1000€ and 1000€ gold seems like a very, very strong support).

I'm staying out of indexes currently or only trading safe set ups in them.

I took a nasty loss on Canopy Rivers. I was certain it would have one solid bull trap before going bearish so I averaged down pretty hard on it. Instead it dropped down, had a whole 5 tradings hour worth of bull trappy momentum, then dumped further and flatlined. This is the exact scenario that can wreck my trading strategy. I can make money, or at least break even, going up or down but I need volatility above and below the trend to do it.

With Canopy Rivers I sold at considerable loss in order to free up funds to pursue other trades. If Rivers does go bullish in future I'll re-enter, maybe lower maybe higher doesn't matter.

This is a good point. I need to read more about all their departments and revenue based on them.
One positive is they have 80ish billion in sales and 6 in income, but I don't know how that compares to other Japanese firms. Debt to equity is low, which is impressive because they didn't go balls deep in debt their American counterparts

I really want to hear his podcast. I think it would explain a lot about the outburst above. Are you crazy, Comfy?
The last time my life was perfect was when I was 19. I wagecucked in a warehouse weekday mornings, delivered pizzas Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights, and took classes Tuesday and Thursday nights.
I stopped doing that because my friends didn't have jobs and I FOMOd to go hang out with them. Some good times but not worth it at all. Put me on a path that took me twenty years to get off of. Now I have the money but it's too late to enjoy it much.

There is not as much certainty about that as the media might lead you to believe. Especially the political media (not the biz media).

Pic related, I have highlighted the long term rising channel for the S&P500 since the 2000/2008 double top in yellow, as well as the more recent trend since 2016 in blue. There are three scenarios possible from this point:

1. Resume bullish trend after some further flat trading in a tightening price range
2. Double bottom on current drop at a low of $2603
3. Drop to the yellow channel for a low of ~$2250-$2350 depending how long it takes to get there. This scenario would be a recession.

Bag Fox Shares (either A or B,don't mater which). Disney owns Fox (deal closes first part of 2019). Fox Shareholders will get Dis Shares as part of the deal. 1 Fox Share = 0.33 of a Dis share IF at the time the deal closes Dis is over $105. If Dis is Under $100 then 1 fox = 0.60 Dis share. Fox trades at upper 40 range now.

Next is to enable Drip. Reinvest those payments, you'll increase your stock holdings a bit at a time. So when it's all said and done you will get Disney shares or add to your existing Disney shares cheaper than buying Dis directly

>isn't the volatility/binary approvals too much for you?

It is intense, but if you just stay stoic and hold, it's not an issue
The key to success is identifying a company with good fundamentals (as determined by amount of funding and efficacy in clinical trials) beforehand
If you do your research on the science supporting the drug(s) the company is making, it becomes easier to pick winners and losers
Biotech companies, particularly small ones, operate on different rules than the rest of the stock market
For a small-cap biotech company, the question of finances is if they have enough money to fund clinical trials, not if they're making a profit or not
The end goal of a small-cap biotech company is either to have their drug be FDA approved or to be bought by a larger company
The companies that ultimately achieve that are the ones that have science supporting them

James Cordier of Optionsellers.com humbled by extreme market fluctuations in natural gas & crude oil. Apologizes to his clients, who were totally wiped out in the process. It appears he lost big w/ short calls in crude, and saw an opportunity in natural gas. Things got much worse as natural gas rallied beyond what most expected, and buyers of the calls he sold cashed in, wiping his Hedge Fund out. Deep sympathy for his clients. More than likely Mr. Cordier was attempting to recover losses for his fund so his clients would finish 2018 on a high note. No speculation at all on intent other than giving the benefit of the doubt. It is a warning to all traders and investors to be cautious and manage risk.

If it's play money I'd buy 100 shares and sit until it hits 10.25. The rest, if it were me, would go half to Fox and half to JMJ. That's just my worthless opinion.

ATVI? Bad idea, unless you're gonna sit on it a while. Their investor call to me was "We're hanging on" but considering how badly their titles are doing...I'd wait on that for anything short term, like Q1 reporting.

PG&E is very interesting, I was considering a small taste of that. They no-BK news is good, but they still have the problems that got them to that point.

ATVI lost blizzard CEO. Just reduced profit sharing (which is why blizz ceo left), and more.

They are not in an upswing

ATVI recently killed diablo franchise IP value by some decent amount
Path of exile, a diablo competitor, is preparing to introduce a whole new major expansion with updated engine, 2x more classes (male and female versions) with an entirely new tree (2 trees total) and a huge fucking anti D4 update

They are funded by tencent and already working on a completely massive patch to take on D4. On top of this Blizz just shot the Diablo franchise in the shoulder with botched PR.

Add that on to everything else from the past month of blizzard/atvi and overwatch being a dying game that just banned their most watched streamer

nah, it's bigger than ever

It's just extremely volatile and tons of competitors + established companies tend to eat shit rather fast. I expect Valve releasing 3 games at once along with a VR headset to be a pretty big move next year.
