stock market edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

It will happen if the US defaults on its foreign commitments and allows geopolitical rivals to start fighting over the vacuums.

Notably Central Europe vs Russia, Saudi Arabia vs Iran, and Japan vs China. All largely over resource access issues but also demographic pressure.

The western hemisphere, southeast asia and Africa are likely to continue growing in perpetuity because there are no major flashpoints that could spark a war that totally ruins the economy. The main structural problems are domestic and demographic which will take a century or more to manifest themselves in a way that could be considered a collapse. The above three scenarios are more pressing - Russia in particular because it has about 10 years to restore defensible borders and internal stability before both its ability to project power declines immensely and there is a change of leadership from Putin to someone else.

Nah, EU probably won't fall right now, especially not because of Brexit. If anything, the EU will do anything to protect the EU from the fallout, especially if it means totally rekting the UK.
Germany has no traction in the EU apparatus anymore. Merkel is weak internally and even if they don't agree on some things, the french, the austrian and the italians are pushing in the same direction economically.
The commission and Italy have a deal that allow both to save face, with the Italian gov selling lots of real estate if their results aren't met. Lega has rescinded its policy, they don't want to leave anymore since they've had essentially what they asked (no refugees coming on their shores anymore).

Oil market analysts say it now appears that Trump hoodwinked Saudi Arabia, fooling the U.S. ally into pushing the oil market into oversupply and sparking a roughly 25-percent drop in crude prices. That accomplished Trump's goal of driving down energy costs for Americans, but left oil-dependent nations like Saudi Arabia with the prospect of shrinking revenues.

Anyone reasonable would have taken a completely different approach. hindsight of course but in that hindsight you can determine current proper course correction

Without alignment of goals any benefit you give china is self-destructive.

Then, how about from the view of amount of brains available in each economic system?
China have a lot of brains, even more if you consider its African allies, but their educational system isn't that much advantaged. That said, western world would also need to improve its education system, especially for a wider public, when it come to growing the brainpool of the entire economic system
