Yeah, some dapps have absolute shit token economics and if the use base isn’t big enough price is only speculative. Luckily link has great( I think even the best, yeah also better than bitcoin and ethereum) token economics. And it’s true users don’t want to go to exchanges to buy link, but there is no need for that because of the reliable data you can pay with fiat. This is why link will go higher than bitcoin in 2019

Chainlink is not a dapp. Its token has a 'transfer and call' function, something Steve developed himself. Also it will be used for collateral unlile all the shitty dapp payment tokens. Another thing is that cl will work with many different blockchains so I wouldnt say eth is the underlying one. There will be real People running nodes to mantain the network that have 0 interest in replacing the link token with anything else.

I think this is the copypasta that calls utility tokens "subway tokens." This is obviously true for a lot of utility tokens, but if you extend that analogy, LINK and other good tokens are more like taxi medallions that give holders the right to operate nodes (or taxis) to make money, and their scarcity and ROI make it so they appreciate.

LINK token velocity is high because theres a lot of requests, each request sends tokens to nodes that then locks them up out of circulating supply
the amount of tokens needed for that amount starts decreasing, supply cant keep up with demand
price starts increasing
