Hey /biz/, reporting back after day 1. For those who don't know who I am or what I did, I lied on my resume about getting a college degree and I instantly got a decent job as a bookkeeper. Prior to that, I was a NEET for the past year and I have never worked in an office (but I have done accounting work at home before). I worked 9 hours today, pay is still $20/hr.

Holy fucking shit, office work is so goddamn easy. It's skill-less. I honestly can't believe that boomers are somehow convinced you need an education for this type of work. As far as my social autism goes, really only my supervisor tried to get to know me. I thought it was weird that everyone else in the office was self-kept, until I saw that almost everyone there was hired through a temp service while I was filing invoices for A/P. That made more sense after that. My weak social skills are overshadowed by factors only /r9k/ could ever hope to achieve. They are nice though. It's nice to be there.

Now, of course, for those who've never done bookkeeping, your first day will be ass because you're going to be dealing with all of the work the last bookkeeper didn't want to do. I spent about 7 hours of my day just sorting invoices and coding expenses. Grunt work. I did get to badger a vendor though, and was only put on hold for 10 minutes so it wasn't that bad. Tomorrow I'll actually be inputting those invoices I sorted in some obscure accounting program no one has ever heard of for pretty much the whole day. Once I know how the company operates on a functional level, I'll probably convince them to just use my accounting procedures instead.

Also the company is 8 months late on a bill and has accrued 12.6% interest. They apparently didn't like the vendor and just chose to ignore it lol. I'm the poor soul who has to ring up the vendor and ask for a discount here in a few days before the next financing period.

Anyways, thanks to all the anons who gave advice to me in the last thread. It was mostly useless, but the sentiment was there.

Do you mind me asking where you're located? I rarely see bookkeeping jobs that pay $20 in my area, maybe $14-$18 most of the time

I'm up in the northwest. Most bookkeeping jobs are infact $14-$18, but I upped the ante with the degree bit.

Almost forgot too, but I told /biz/ what I'd invest in on my paychecks. I'm thinking of buying $KO. They're killing it this year.

in the meanwhile you get should get your degree from an accredited online place

the funny thing about degrees is that they are so much work but once you get that first job (thats albeit relevant to your career) then it just becomes a ticked box on the hr checklist somewhere down in the bottom

Thanks man. That's the plan too: Get in on some dividends and faggy d's every once in a while.

I'm not paying for college. No way. Not after actually seeing what "high-tier" jobs are like for real. I think most people would call me arrogant here, but the work is retarded easy.

They're easy. Even the high paying financial work. I am just surprised they haven't done a background check or anything. But you should still do it. At a place like Case Western. It's accredited and completely online.

I have a Math and Physics degree so only sort of applies, but it took me a few years to learn that lying in your resume and your interview are definitely the way to go. I messed up so many job interviews for years by being honest.

Just don't lie yourself into a job you can't handle.

>> No.11724903

Do people seriouly get jobs by lying? What about background checks? Can this also apply to leafs?

>> No.11724943

>>11724903
You would be surprised how many companies don't bother with background checks. Background checks and drug tests are both very expensive for the company doing them and often not worth it at all.

The worst thing that will happen if you lie and they catch you is they don't hire you. You don't get blacklisted on some global database that keeps you out of other jobs; you just don't get that job that you wouldn't have gotten anyway if you told the truth.

>>11724903
What's the absolute worst that can happen?

A. You don't get the job
B. You get the job, make a paycheck or two for $20 an hour and get fired bc they realize you have no idea what you're doing.

this was more or less my thought process. Like, I was already not getting hired. What downside did I have?

Starving and homeless. That was my downside.

I work 9 hour days anon. 5 days a week. That puts me at about 45600 yearly (w/ OT), which if income percentiles are to be trusted, puts me ahead of 82% of the population.

Not bad for a guy with almost nothing to his name. I'll be completely debt free 1.5 months from now.
