>look up a business in your area
>steal their idea
>sell similar product but for a lower price

Why doesn't everyone do this?

Because the odds are that you won't be able to sell for cheaper. What you can do is manufacture the item in china but you need to bulk produce, hope you dont get scammed and then hope to make sales.

how do you know they aren't just barely squeezing by with a razor-thin profit margin already. because that's most businesses.

because not everyone has a business or has the means to create one
if it was that easy, everyone would have done it already

Most businesses are run by people who don't know how to do math, don't reinvest profits or have unnecessary overhead. It's surprisingly easy to outcompete normies at normie games.

Only narcissistic teens think that their ideas are special and valuable.

When you grow up you start to realize ideas are like 1% and execution is 99% of the effort required to obtain success.

So good luck gettings investors, your own logos, business name, office/retail space, employees, a good accountant, a marketing strategy, etc, etc, especially if you are too big of a retard to think up something that is more unique than an exact copy of the local coffee shop.

My dad has got a local tire selling shop, but all his shops are physical, and doesn't have a e-store. I made one, but I'm not getting much sales. What did I do wrong? Store is elpadangos.lt

Jet.com launched with an ecommerce veteran CEO who sold his last site to Amazon. He wanted to undercut other e retailers to take their business away.

So he ran tests, could he steal customers away with free 2 day shipping and 15% less price? No, no one cares if its 15% less. People react the same whether its 5% off or 20% off, you capture the same amount of business. So he stopped giving heavy discounts and just ran a normal business eventually selling to Walmart for $3 billion.

The lesson tho is people dont seem to care about small price differences.

the real trick is copying a local business but acting like its a more premium product and selling it at a higher price
