11670327 No.11670327 [Reply] [Original]

Their plan is to announce a new post-POW protocol to replace BTC after it dies.

I got this info from someone named "Geo Star" in the Advanced Crypto Asset Trading group on Facebook.

Another person named Sean Ironstag, one of the founders of the group, backed her up. He wrote a long post about it. I'll excerpt it below.

>> No.11670354

"The recent occurrence of the 10 year anniversary of the Bitcoin protocol poetically marks the death of itself, as the many who serve the one will soon be greedily cashing out “Satoshi’s Million.”

“The Council” has been convening (and luxuriating) in the crystalline turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea for some time now, making moves to capitalize off the losses of the masses, while pushing an ideal of decentralization and goodwill—operating in the shadows of a "transparent" realm, perpetuating the greed, materialism, and corruption of the very models the blockchain was meant to make irrelevant.

This is why Satoshi is burning it all to ashes. The flooding of the market with Satoshi’s million will cause an entire crypto economic collapse, as the streets run red with the blood of Bitcoin.

The only tokens that will be safe, as Geo stated, are asset backed tokens (since they will never fall below the value of the assets backing them). All the vapor tokens, the utility tokens, the protocol tokens—prepare for the onslaught.

Why?

So a new and -better- protocol can emerge, that moves BEYOND materialistic greed and transactionality, while resetting the financial markets, and teaching the world a lesson in the process."

>> No.11670766

Alright guys, I have been thinking about this concept for a long time, probably longer than is healthy.
Here is what I think:

Proof of Work is outdated and must die.
it leads to a situation where there is a constant never-ending arms race for hashpower accumulation.
It is a never ending situation that if left to its natural conclusion will lead to all energy and all resources being used to mine Bitcoin. This is not good.

This doesn't even take into account the idea that there might be breakthroughs in energy technology in the future that lead to almost free energy.
What would this do for POW systems that rely on energy as their backing?
It would definitely be problematic.
So POW must die.

Now onto Bitcoin BTC. It too must die, and it will, even if just through its war with BCH.
If Satoshi supports BCH and not BTC, which would make sense given what the whitepaper says,
and if Satoshi is still able to sell his 1 million coins like the video says,
then at the very least I'd predict Satoshi selling his BTC to support BCH in some way.
So at the very least BTC will die.

But what about BCH, since it runs on POW?
I already said that I think POW should die due to the fact that it is non sustainable - that it does not lead to any good potential final outcome.
So does this mean that BCH too should die?
Hmm.. this is where it gets tougher.
Let's pretend that some alternative coin were launched, right now.
Non-POW, some advanced system that was super amazing and perfect, and allowed decentralization, security, scalability, etc.
Solved the trinity.

Then what?
We'd have to wait another 10 years before there were enough coins in circulation to power the global economy.
And that just won't do with the current state of the world and its old economy that is ready to burst at any moment.
We need something that is well known NOW, that is distributed ALREADY, that is able to bear the load NOW.

Only Bitcoin can claim that it is properly positioned at the current moment.
(1/2)

>> No.11670795

>>11670766
But Bitcoin BTC must die due to the issues I outlined above.
So that just leaves BCH as the only possible coin that can survive and power the global economy in the future.
We can't wait another 10 years for some new coin to plant itself into people's minds and distribute itself.

BCH is perfectly positioned NOW. There are enough coins in circulation to power the global economy,
and still enough left in future emissions to attract people who want to mine with whatever system is used.

But I said that POW must die, and BCH uses POW.
So what does this mean for the future?
Is there an upgrade coming to this coin? Will the entire world and crypto economy be reset from square one?
Will we be stuck using POW and all that that means?

I think the video posted above is partially right and partially wrong.
BTC will die.
POW will die.
But BCH might just survive this fiasco.

Here is my take on all of this:
Either Bitcoin 3.0 survives and is the phoenix
Or it is something completely new, completely different.
Something that can't be bought.
Because if you can buy it, then it is exactly what we already have now.

Here is what might happen:

POW is kept in place long enough for the hashwars to play out
For those in control of the market to kill off EVERY SINGLE COIN
Except the one they back, or two, or three.
Not many.

Then once the market is fully controlled,
And the 'selected' coins are secured.
They will completely upgrade everything.
Wipe the slate with the new tech.
And grandfather the 'selected' coins in.

This is how I see things going.
