I am in the exact same situation as you OP. I want to use my 10k to invest and I think oil prices are going to shoot back up because OPEC is going to most likely freeze oil production. Youl'l get like $400 a year worth of free money that you can buy video games with or something. Or if you're discplined put that $400 back into dividend paying shares and make $540 next year:D.

And so on and so forth so that when you're like 50 then youl' make like a free 20-30k a year.

Counting for inflation it might be a bit less than that. Maybe 20-30k in the future will only be worth like 15-25k. But 25k a year for nothing aint bad.

ofcourse you won't enjoy it, but your kid(s) will get a free 25k every year onto their pay.

If they choose to compound that for their lives... then THEIR kids get a free few hundred thousand a year.

if you were bill less.... day trading is an easy way to make money if you have the time.... i think its like a minimum of 20 grand to have like second to second trades.... you still can make money quickly by just watching yahoo finance and investing in the "rising stocks or whatever"

if you dont have the time... put it in an account that earns as much interest as possible.
