The real question at the moment is just what sort of beast is Chainlink turning into. The Town Crier acquisition hints at something a lot bigger than a trustless oracle network. We're basically looking at a total second layer computation solution that incorporates an oracle network, but also incorporates off chain computation and decentralisation on demand (DaaS).
We've been making analogies that Chainlink will be "the Google of oracles" but that analogy is looking even more accurate now that it looks like Chainlink want to do a lot more than just be the premium oracle service. They want to be a complete and multifaceted machine for powering smart contract execution.
Honestly when I think about it I get nervously excited. Just how much of a fucking behemoth is this project going to be?
