Chainlink isn't just the world's first decentralized network anymore. With town crier it is now the go-to provider of off-chain computation in a trusted execution environment.

This really is the perfect kind of news at this stage of Chainlink's development: further extension of Chainlink's fundamental reach.
I'm very relieved that this is the news instead of something like a coinbase listing, which would give a short boost to the price, but with no actual merit.
This is the kind of news that pays dividends over time. People have trouble wrapping their head around what it actually means.

LINK is seriously the last token in the world that needs to be listed on Coinbase. Normies don't need to hold LINK. Nobody that isn't a node operator needs to hold LINK. What most of the XRB/VEN moonboys who came to /biz/ this year and found LINK don't understand, is that it could reach $100 a token without a single normie buying a single token. Internal network incentives alone would drive it to that price.
Fuck Coinbase, fuck normies, fuck moonboys, run a node, get money.

You remember the talk Sergey had with bunch of people just outside the room during Web3? People were cynical about Intel SGX because it's a point of failure. Sergey kept saying that it's the best thing that works right now.

Rory said this in the telegram chanel today:

>TC is one way to make SGX work in real world applications. It is the only way to my knowledge that is being actively applied.

I don't know how any of this shit works, but it seems like nearly every company demands a TEE, and the only option is SGX. And the only way to use SGX is through Towncrier. Who owns Towncrier? Chainlink.

We're absolutely gonna make it.

OP covered it. Anyone looking into trusted enclaves is going to to talk to Chainlink at some point.
TC also has a white paper: https://eprint.iacr.org/2016/168.pdf
Start from there.

Just a funny example; remember that Dawn Song fud from last summer? How her project Oasis Labs/Ekiden was going to BTFO Sergey?
The team behind that has great overlap with TownCrier. https://arxiv.org/pdf/1804.05141.pdf
