Correct.
What do you mean long-term? Bear markets don't usually last very long, so short-selling, and put options are generally the way to go.
We may not be entering a bear market though, hence why I just went into the inverse ETF for the week. We'll have to see how things perform in the coming weeks, but with another rate hike on the table in December we could be entering bear mode.
