Won't SKY become redundant around 2020 when 5G starts being rolled out? Wi-Fi mesh networks will be replaced by the possibility of 5G meshes at a significantly higher reliability and speed. And regardless whether we want it or not, 5G will be absolutely everywhere between 2020-2025, at a better distribution denser than 4G and even home WiFi networks.

But Google may be needing more connections than everyone else. 2020 however will not just bring the network to large corporations, but also the tech for 5G deployment to private open source networks. Which would phase out Wi-Fi meshes over time.

Skywire is carrier agnostic. It will work over 5G just like it will work over other wireless, radio, satellite and fiber connections.
