So I have been reading the Reminiscence of a stock operator and man, this goy really became anti-semitic by the end. The last two chapters were literally written by a rabid nazi.
What an awful book, definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Took advantage of the dip; bought some apple stock. Got the others, FB/Amazon/Google,etc via a vanguard etf. picked up some T,Intel,AMD,TWTR, and Snap on the cheap as well. There is this one upstart Pharma company who's recent drug trials are very promising. Stock is only going up. Recent general market downturn didn't phase it a bit. Stock went up today. I'm not terribly concerned about Amazon's volatility off earnings miss in so far as the impact on overall markets is concerned. Up 7% in trading session, down same 7% in after hours (currently). It'll take a deeper dip than just giving away the day's bounce gains to cause major trouble. Not good for holders of Amazon, but not dire for the Nasdaq perse.

I have been through three of these dips as a trader now and have a general idea of where the market is headed in short term. A recession at this time makes no sense whatsoever. No reason to think markets are making a bearish reversal for long term. 2016 was scary as fuck and I'll say the pessimism back then was even worse than it is now. That recovered just fine. Why?
