Surprise! edition

>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

I've regained full control over my "hope" that had built over the weekend.
ADR's have little to no reason to rocket up much, because as pointed out
before, they are HEAVILY influenced by international perception.
China can prop up its own markets all it wants,
but that won't solve our current problems.

If the big boys see this as reason to be bullish on ADRs I will be pleasantly surprised.
I suspect it to be a little green but to bleed half its gains again.

Both will do that... the stop order will sell the stock at market price. If the price is falling quickly, you may end up selling 5 or 10% lower (or more) depending on if the order can fill.
The stop limit will activate at a certain price and only fill at or above a given price... drawback is that it may not fill when it gets activated if the price drops quickly

>> No.11480649

The word 'stop' in this context is kind of confusing. It's really more of a 'start', as in start selling your shares when triggered. The limit portion allows you to set the order to discontinue selling your shares if the price drops below it while your shares are in the process of being sold. See post above for why this may be desired.

Stop and stop-limit are both 'stop loss' orders.

It's why I keep meming about using ML.
I only want statistically proven signals plucked from the noise.
thepatternsite.com has phenomenal statistics on the real accuracy of candlestick patterns, and even the best ones would only have accuracy of up to something like 65% or 70%.
Now trendlines? Come on.

The entire real estate market is speculation though. At least a large majority.
Owners price homes based on what the believe others will pay to live in a certain area. 500 k for a bungalow in LA or 500 k for a 4000sqft home in Alabama. That’s total speculation.
Yes there’s more mixed in like supply and demand, avaliabilty of jobs, lack of minorities (for all their virtue signaling the left is just as racist and it shows in their home shopping habits), weather, etc.
However it happens on a smaller scale all the time. Owners and realtors price houses mostly on feels. It’s all about how bad somebody wants to live there.

Had $19,000 USD on YINN last week and felt physically ill on Thursday after it plunged. I was ready to sell before market close buy knew I would be making an emotional decision so I held. Sold this morning in the green. China is a meme economy and you can only bet on when their govt steps in and begins propping up the markets with funny money, like they are now.

Conservative party leader Andrew Scheer may hace just flushed his chances to win next federal election. Ass hat said he was considering recriminalizing weed if he won. I think that statement from Friday evening is the reason for the panic sell. Shorts glommed on to it as an opportunity of weakness.

Heavy bounce off the 50 sma on all major tickers tomorrow or Wednesday incoming.

Also, i didn't want to vote for weedman Trudeau again but i will if this is the platform the conservatives run on.

There are. Lots of support in western Vancouver and Burnaby. There are a lot of rural ridings amassing together in Chilliwack and Abbotsford as well. Victoria has some support as well and we will all have our EDAs officialized by mid November. The big one will be getting someone to run in Burnaby South in the by-election where the NDP leader will be. That's the riding where a Syrian migrant murdered Marissa Shen, a young Chinese girl. We might have a lady running that had coffee thrown on her when she was protesting Trudeau's immigration policy over this killing. She was rejected by the Conservative party for being... actually conservative.
