I'm seriously considering moving half of my equity investments (approx. $13k) into cryptocurrencies. Tell me why I shouldn't.

The fact that cryptocurrencies are up 37% means you already missed the bubble. But if you jump in now you'll be just in time for the inevitable pop.

Cryptos are notoriously volatile, if that's the environment you thrive in, go for it.

7x return for me (mostly eth)

Eth will realistically hit 70 - 80 before stabilizing at 50 - 60. It actually does something useful and is backed by bigger tech companies

Have any of you guys realized any gains or do you just have x times the value of the coins you started with?

some lucky bastards probably cashed out
some greedy bastards probably still hold.
but I bet that most of those who multiplied their investment, started with an insignificant amount anyway and so aren't precisely rich now. I had over 2000% gains but since my initial investment was like 5 bucks it didn't mean anything.

>> No.1145106

Op clearly has no concept of volume. It doesn't matter how much the value goes up by, if you can't sell it.

This is probably true.

I didn't buy in until it was 0.022 BTC, but i bought 90,000 USD worth.

Sold at 0.032 for a healthy 40,000 profit.
