>I'm new to the stock market, what stocks should I buy?
Before you buy anything, make a brokerage account and read investopedia articles and/or the books in the OP list. If you don't have a broker, you can't buy stocks, and if you blindly buy things without understanding how the stock market works or doing any research on the individual stocks you're buying, you will lose money and it will be entirely your fault.

He means the fed is being too aggressive with the interest rate hikes and risking damage to the economy for no reason. They're hiking because economy is strong and they want to curb inflation, but there is certainly a point where said hikes not only curb inflation but trigger a downturn, which you do not want.

why would you ever touch Activision or even EA if you were considering that too. It doesn't take more than a quick glance to see how out of touch they are. They're just running on inertia.

if it wasn't so risky to get into tech stuff right now, I'd just go all in into Microsoft instead. Always seems to be the black sheep in consoles, but I don't think many people realize what kind of monopoly they have on PC gaming with DirectX and Win10. In hindsight, Xbone's aim was probably to spread that to console gaming bit by bit too, with the console + PC combination.

add that to how fuckhuge PC gaming continues to grow compared to console gaming.

im not planning to buy microsoft though, I'm not entirely certain yet

Yea it is
I have really bad ADD, and slow handwriting, but am good at math

But the main thing is teachers notes use different equations than the book's, and his notes on the board are sloppy, too fast for me to write them all down

teacher has no sense of how long it should take to finish his tests though, and that's the main problem, running out of time when you still haven't even looked at the last problem...

Hardest test I ever took was for EMT though. Multiple choice, unknown amount of questions, two hour time limit.
It only has a 60% success rate for first time test takers. They ask questions designed to trip you up. The worst is when all the answers are wrong and you have to pick the one that’s least wrong. No joke. Or they’ll give you an entire paragraph of info on the patient then ask what’s the percentage of oxygen in room air. Really stupid shit.

The companies seem cheap but then you see the massive debt load and exposure to foreign currency risk, and turn 360 degrees and walk away.

its true.. we really could be looking at a depression here soon. Interest rates rising and millenials loaded with student loan debt. Not only is there alot of personal debt like credit cards and car loans but there is a shit load of corporate debt.

On top of that we have boomers trying to retire that will be taking their money out of the market to either A. take their "winnings" and leave. or B. panic and sell out because they don't want 2008 to happen to them all over again.

They still just don't know anybetter

>Interest rates rising

The fed isn't going to keep steaming ahead with rate hikes if things turn bad. They're only raising them now because they want to slow inflation and chill things out. What we're seeing now is partly a backlash of the fed pushing hikes too quickly for the market to withstand in a stable kind of way.

>> No.11360794

thats the problem imo.. they cant fuel the economy since they can no longer take out loans and they can't find any job to pay off those loans due to automation and outsourcing. If the U.S. falls the whole world falls.. everyone knows this.. they found this out real quick in 2008.

Not sure why you wouldn't want a recession.. i think a healthy recession is a good thing that is essential for the economy to continue healthy growth.

Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked -Warren Buffett.

Thought another was coming and was right, but after this recentn slow slide I second guessed myself and sold my VXX at a minor gain tuesday, then this hell blew up, even wiped out a ton of my AMD gains I knew I should have sold a couple weeks ago and regret that too. I was unhinged at market close cuz my long positions took a big haircut and bought the ETFs it on a whim for an intraday position to make some of it back and immediately regret it cuz it looks like I'm going to lose a bunch of that too, and anyone that knows leveraged ETFs like that knows why I can't hold them. STAY ON TARGET

>> No.11362021

tfw being all in on an index fund means just waiting and watching the market until I need to buy a car or house or something.

Tbh it makes watching the dips pretty boring, like it's just a waiting game for the slow burn to eventually fizzle up again.

Doesn't it cost money to buy and sell stocks to day trade and the like? How is day trading worth the fees that incurs if you typically only break even?

>typically only break even?

Where did you get that idea? Also, in trading banter "broke even" typically includes the commission fees as part of the trade. Selling at exactly the same price as you bought is not technically breaking even.

So DJI is expected to fall a further 300-400 points today when it open according to after hour trade?

I should have figured commissions were priced in on that. I don't know if breaking even is standard, I assume people are on average make around as much as they lose. Why wouldn't it work like that?
