Not going to sugarcoat it about the procedure. It sucked ass. It was painful and I could feel a lot of it even though they numb you. But 30 minutes of pain is worth the lifetime of no more worry.

Also they tell you that you will be sore for three days but it is actually two weeks. You will have to walk slowly for two weeks afterwards, but it's still totally worth it.

Just to offer a second opinion on the vasectomy idea- I had one and definitely do not recommend it! Getting through the procedure wasn’t really bad, it’s painful and embarrassing but it’s done in less than 30 minutes. My problems is that I’ve developed severe chronic pain from it afterwards. Seen lots of different urologist and none have helped. The only thing they can do is send me to a pain clinic but I can’t work and be fucked up all the time. So I just put up with feeling like I’ve just been kicked in the balls 24/7/365. Obviously I don’t have sex anymore. So your mileage may vary but I’d say thing about it carefully and make sure you get the best surgeon you can find.
