The fact that there is no ultimate meaning is what, paradoxically, makes it all mean something.

Yes, unless we find a way around entropy, the best we can hope for is that the intelligent races of the universe eke out an existence around red dwarf stars, or possibly black holes, until even those evaporate and the infinite heat death of the universe occurs.
