is there any way to not pay shit tons of taxes if you ever manage to get rich or something?

like say you're living in the US and then all of a sudden you hit a contract a musician for 1 million dollars. then boom the government swarms in takes 500k from you and then leaves you with half of it and you get nothing.

you cant leave the USA because you have to tour here or you have family or something and im pretty sure once the income is made in America you have to pay it if you ever wanna come back or not get extradited back to the country in handcuffs

is there anything at all you can do or if you make a million dollars can you just expect 500k of it to disappear into thin air?
