Most cop jobs are pure nepotism -- goes to somebody's cousin and shit like that.

If you want a fair swing you can always try to get in good with your jurisdiction. Take an EMT class, volunteer for the fire department, so on so forth. Also make it seem like you can get through academy -- join a fitness club, or even better, put it down that you've worked as a personal trainer or something.

Even then it;s rough odds though. Best of luck my dude it's a tough job market out there.
