I've been working on a spreadsheet which projects potential earnings from compounding dividend portfolios. Pic related is a very easy figure for most anons here to achieve with T.

Ridiculous 17% gap up on Aurora Cannabis this morning. I don't know wtf that was about. It went up to 21% in the first few minutes before pulling back. I have no position in Aurora right now but that was odd. Maybe something to do with their Australis Capital deal this week?

I own more than just SP500 index funds and also own some 2x leveraged ETFs, yes.

Being in Index Funds ONLY is for only the most passive and risk adverse investors, during bull or bear markets you shoudl also own significant amounts of all the blue chip companies you can. There are all sorts of articles about how being on 2x SP500 leverage is ideal for long term results, NDX the same thing. You have to have iron fucking hands to hold through 50% drawdowns but if your time horizon is 20+ years, who cares what your balance is at in year 12? If anything you shoudl be HAPPY for bear markets years before your retirement date, means you get to buy up stuff at huge discounts.

I'm 28, want to easily be doen by 50 most likely around age 40, and would LOVE a bear market anytime in the next 7~ years. Get to buy up a ton of QQQ/SSO/MSFT/AMZN/KO/etc at a 10-20% discount? Best possible scenario

it seems invaluable for identifying accumulation/distribution on the intraday level (as well as the macro level)

I have a handful of shares with AMD, and I love their products, but holy fuck their P/E ratio is through the roof. That's really worrying.

It just seems massively overvalued. I want to buy more but I'm not sure how much longer it'll get overbought before investors sell out. It's growing rapidly but I'm not sure that translates to profits long term for investors.

I mostly made the calculator to test what level of capital I would need in each stock to have a meaningful compound dividend portfolio. My aim is to have a few reliable bluechips that generate enough in dividends to fund buying another one, until eventually my overhead is large enough that I can live off dividends. I'm a grad student and can only afford to put $500 a month in towards my IRA/brokerage/savings (also as a grad student my employer doesn't contribute to my IRA). Given the average age for the first R01 is in the 40s now, I realistically will do 2 postdocs before hopping between visiting positions at decent programs/schools before settling on a tenuretrack at some shit-tier school. Dividends Anon here: depends on what you're looking for.

Right now I have about 100K in dividend stocks only

I have 250K in growth and income mutual funds, including my IRA. My mutual funds do all the work in terms of finding potential massive growth stocks (like Amazon). I don't have time to research that.

I do have time to find companies that have paid dividends (and increased their dividends) for the last X number of years.

Plus, I like getting a paycheck regardless of how the stock is doing. All but 1 company I have in my divvy portfolio has cut a dividend in the last decade, and that's GE, which I bought low around 13 so I haven't been hurt by a cut.

Its all an opportunity cost. I like having both, but to each their own.

Anyone else notice false gains on ETFs? I've been watching UWT all day and 3 times there has been an instant 10 buys of 100 stocks apiece that jump the stock 30 cents or so and then people buy thousands before it deflates below the start. Is that common? It usually happens in a calm period like no buys for 10 minutes then instant gains.

Dividends aren't taxed if you hold the stock for +60 days if its common.
That's why striking early at a heavy dividend stock enough to actually see growth in the stock itself as well is perhaps the best move in trading, because there is no downside for like 5 years, so you just collect money until then, with more money once you're ready to sell.
