Can anybody tell me why Holo's chart looks like this in Blockfolio?

>> No.11083225

>>11083210
no volume

>> No.11083226

it's been trading at 17/18 sats all day.

It looks like average shitcoin

>> No.11083234

Same reason as when you asked sixteen hours ago.

>> No.11083262

>OP, here's a genuine answer if you're looking for one. The supply of HOT is high, and compared to most other cryptos, so is the price of a single BTC. This means the price of a single HOT token per BTC is very low - currently double digit satoshis, ie. the smallest fraction of a BTC. As the BTC HOT is traded against can't be divided into any smaller units, this limits the granularity of the range of prices in BTC for which HOT can be traded. Rather than orders spread out nicely over a broad range, large numbers of orders bunch up at each price level.

>Significant buying or selling volume isn't reflected as volatile price action like you would normally expect to see, since there are so many orders at the current price levels to work through before the price moves significantly in either direction. Until then, the price bounces back and forth between two prices as the token is bought and sold. Whether the candles appear red or green is quite arbitrary, as bots spam tiny buy and sell orders constantly in hope of being the last order processed when the current candle closes.

>When ETH isn't on fire, the HOTETH pair offers a better perspective of HOT's price action. This is because the price of a single ETH is lower compared to BTC. As HOT is valued at a larger number of gwei/vits than it is sats, the larger number of these units are more easily divisible and therefore allows for more granular pricing.

>If you already knew this, fuck you.

Well you see Anon they really let the printer press go on this one.

They minted 130 billion of em. So literally every person on Earth could have a stack of these things .
It's all a dopamine thing , you let people looking at small amounts of personal money in all of their accounts now see these million dollar numbers on their "Ponzi rodeo" portfolio.
So even though no self respecting hooker is going to let you pay her in hot computer credits , you might be able to run that website you always planned on making for your million dollar idea.

You know the one, it connects x with y.

Righto. I have my eye on you, OP. But yeah, the same principle applies for other high-supply/low-sat token price action.

Of course, when Holo's MC is 1B+, price granularity will become less of a problem.

because the price is so low it only trades between 2 sats at a time. (the lowest number after the comma in a bitcoin).

If you want a normal graph, look at HOT/ETH. Because eth is worth less you have more room for price movement on that chart.

After experiencing the TRX pump in early jan, I don't trust anything that spikes like this over a few days. Plus the fact that some addresses have billions of HOT tokens just laying around waiting to dump doesn't make it an easy hold for me.

You are. When you buy at 17 sats it actually buys at 18 sats and vice versa. Sorta newfag so idk how it works but that's how it is, you end up losing money. Also trading fees.
