>Icebreaker: I have nothing today.

How about "how much would you have to be paid to do your current job, but in a wagecage?"

Personally I'd need at least another $20k/year.

Tomorrow is my last day.
Starting a new job in 3 weeks where I’ll be working remote.

For the sake of argument let's say there are timelocks on the cage for 30 minutes of lunch and 15 minutes of other break time to use as you see fit.

I'd do it for at minimum a 20k bump, yeah

So who counts as wagies? Do salaried workers count? If so, is there a cutoff for how much you make?

Or does anyone who gets up in the morning to work automatically a wagie?

>> No.11049665

>>11049633
Even CEOs are wagies. Perhaps the ultimate wagies.

Shareholders and the board boss them around, they have to put in absurd hours, and many stick around earning their multimillion dollar salary because they don't see themselves as having made it ("and there's only so much golf you can do if you retire!").

>already took 3 days off last week, 2 because health issues 1 because holiday and office was closed
>gonna be a shitty month financially
>not sure if I'm even actually sick or not
>probably only had a fever because office is kept at arctic temperatures
>work from home is possible but not for me because I'm a temp worker, even though I've been here 5 months
>some cunt gets to work 2 days + from home because she has a fucking kid and "can't find a babysitter" which is bullcrap
>but not for me, nope, I don't get any benefits or perks at all
>had to watch everyone else in office take a vacation while I don't get any PTO at all, and if I tried to take a week or two off at my own cost I'd be fired on the spot
>I do the exact same work everyone else does, but they all get paid more than me and a pile of benefits I've been denied
>tried standing up for myself and threatening to leave if they didn't cut the shit
>nothing happened
>now have to find a new job just to escape this bullshit
>"well the other people have seniority"
>no, they don't, one has been here 1.5 years, one for 8 months, one for a year... I've been here 5 months. They were all straight up perm hired, no temp period, had bennies out the starting gate
>but I get fucked over
To say I'm mad is an understatement. I'm looking for other work but due to health reasons I won't be able to interview for like 2 weeks.

Thanks man. I think they're actively trying to automate my job which is a reason they aren't perm hiring me. Honestly I hate the entire field and want to switch to something else (analytics, I'm in accounting now.) Hopefully I can make a successful switch. I could get another job just like this one easily enough, but the pay wouldn't increase and the work would be just as mind numbing so what's the use of it. I'm not totally fucked, at least. As long as my health issues resolve.
