Well, I lost virtually my entire investment on this. Half my portfolio was in BTC, and that's kinda held up, at least. How long until BTC starts shitting the bed, too?

denial is absolutely not priced in. Didn't you notice the plunge protection whale? BTC is protected from falling below $100B for the entire 2018.

Every BTC bull run foe the past 2 years has come directly after an ETF rejection, like within a week after, and seemingly for "no reason." Let that sink in.

The first etf rejection happened in March 2017 and it ended in eth's bullrun.
Btc only started going up after bitcoin cash fork was announced

Yeah btc is protected by eth seller for a short time but when eth is finally drained dry btc will start to fall and pull eth with itself int oa void probably we are talking about an unironical 4000$ for btc and some double digits for eth

Crypto actually used as a currency could be worth $0.01 or $1 or $100, the price itself doesn't matter what matters is stability and ease of use.
Even if crypto maintains its use as a criminal medium of exchange it could still be worth pennies. Dollar is the most used currency in the world and yet what does one dollar buy you in the US?

There's still a limited quantity of cryptos while USD keep on inflating forever because 'it has to'.
The functions of being a currency is the only 'intrinsic' value to crypto, what else do you think drives the price?

>when eth is finally drained dry
>btc will start to fall and pull eth with itself
how does that work.
those eth sellers need eth to sell, but you assumed they are dry?
The current trendline for eth enters negative prices at the end of October. Eth is going to find bottom before then and stay there. If BTC dumps ratio is going to increase, from whatever it is.

> what else do you think drives the price?
speculation and greed
crypto price going up (or down) is actually bad for its use as a currency as it creates instability for buyers and sellers.
> a limited quantity of cryptos
Think about what happened if US stopped increasing its money supply, or drastically lowered the rate at which it does so. Prices would adjust and dollar holders wouldn't get any better off in the long run, in fact they would be worse off since that would hurt the economy via hurting exports, inflating debt etc.

wow thanks for your insight, i guess what we really need is to peg it 1:1 to the USD so it inflates along with fiat :^)

Actually the rise of BTC market cap has significantly decreased volatility.
Once the market cap get high enough, it also gets more liquid and harder to manipulate.
I don't buy the $10 stable BTC meme, it needs a high market cap, it's only a fraction of gold's right now.
