I came on here, because some guy at my boxing gym was talking about making an algo to trade crypto volatility, and I've been a long time /tv/ /fit/ /sp/ lurker and poster, so I came here.

I've had crazy ups and downs at the casino, but, what I've won ($24,600 ath gambling/ $40,000 at my lowest) is nothing compared to what you describe. Losing 90% of your savings in a month you sound just as bad as me.

>and yet the sheer arrogance of never making good investments is never ironic enough to give you guys a moment of clarity, to stop gambling.
"I'm in it for the tech" "I want to have my purchases be my own business" "fiat is going to crash despite being backed by the popular demand of every living person ( i actually agree with this last one)"

>what gives /biz/? How are you all so good at deluding yourselves?

I got in so early that I'm still up hundreds of thousands. I figure the amount I'll lose from what I left in won't make me kill myself, and if it works out I'll be able to retire early.

It's much easier if you view this as end game money. Only buy the dips and don't worry too much about selling. Then it's just the world around you going crazy.

I've thought about that, full disclosure, I'm a no coiner, but I've be researching conventment, and EOS, and even chainlink, and the only conclusion I can come to is that you have to trade this market with an extreme sense of contingency for all trades.

you say that in a flip way, but there is a powerful psychosis at the root of "bagholding" I think, and it's sad honestly

You researching what these coins are is far more than most people do. Buy some (doesn't have to be alot) of whatever you find interesting, otherwise you may regret it, if the field takes off again.
Grab some low caps and start messing with them or trade some eos tokens on newdex, would be my suggestion.

take my case for example. I have been in this space since 2012/2013, since then I have not worked a single day. My entire live has revolved around Crypto for 5-6 years, I am still paying the bills with my holdings. There are thousands if not tens of thousands people like me which are a vocal minority within the Crypto scene. We will not go away, and we will again be the first one to make money when things turn around. is it gambling? Not really, I am literally sitting on 2012 profits still. And in 2020-2025 I will likely sit on a mountain of 2018-2019 profits. I feel like it is hard to explain to people who only saw the bad side of Crypto and have been here for less than 2 boom and bust cycles.

I've been watching pretty closely for months, and it should be pretty obvious that all coins except mayyybe bitcoin are going down further with pumps here and there, and then more encompassing dumps.

The social media type coins like mythril are not going anywhere, and alot of the "tech" coins are utter crap too, but the coins primarily for purchasing seem like they have more staying power

that's actually a air point I didn't see the runup in 2017 so I'm am missing an aspect of the crypto monetary system, but I think It will go even lower over the course of the coming year or two.

Side note i made 300 bucks on an online tourney! So i'm happy

I won't lie I'm a gambler.

I'm unironical 50% down to initial investment (came to late to the party but considering my holdings im still lucky).

I consider my investment gone, I've decided I won't bring any new money in.

Besides crypto I save a lot, so luckily I'm not on a bad path yet. But I'm playing with fire and I'm done burning my hands .

I repeat the boomer mantra, only invest what you can loose.

What has changed with the coins you believed in between now and when you were willing to pay double?
I don't understand, honestly. This has been such a large discount to accumulators like me.

genuine accumulators who are buying the way down with a legitimate strategy, and not risking entire initial investments seem smart to me.

I want to be clear here, I believe in crypto, I think it's going down for 1-2 years across the board, but it will come back with explosive growth, especially if there are economic woes in the real world

Don't get me wrong, the goal is 100% in crypto.
I'm transitioning to being paid in and paying for things in crypto as much as possible, as well.
Fuck the banks, I'd rather this guy be rich.

He probably works quite a bit more than he leads on. I've never met a lazy crypto nerd. They are usually compsci futurists.
