How do we capitalize on the incoming Asteroid mining industry /biz/? All the space start ups seem to be private so direct investment is out unless you're an accredited investor. We can guess that in 25 years or less the prices of iron, iridium, titanium, etc will collapse. How does one make money off of this fact? What industry(s) would become feasible if certain metals were 100x more abundant?

I am actually starting a space utility company OP. Just waiting on Musks BFR to be ready. Mid 2020's are going to lead to a lot of start ups.

Make a cool logo and a snappy corporate video in Singapore about your asteroid mining company that uses secret advanced tech to rival SpaceX and NASA.

Then sell merch, hats and T-shirts with your logo on it. Mining asteroids is hard, but selling clothes with a cool logo is easy. Fake asteroid mining company with real merchandise that zoomers will love to get their greasy hands on.

Do title IV crowd funding so mere mortals like me can buy in. Hopefully the regulations will be relaxed some by the time you're ready.

Asteroid mining is unlikely to have a huge impact on terrestrial markets due to future regulations regarding private entities crashing asteroids into the Earth at hypersonic speeds. Instead, it is more likely that asteroids would be used to build in-orbit stations and ships. Due to the delta-v requirements of moving large masses in space, it's probably going somewhere along the lines of self-replicating robot mining "crews" being landed on an asteroid or small moon, then the robots self-assembling into the mass into the desired design. So really the only major industry would be space travel itself - therefor it is currently more feasible to invest in aerospace/engineering education so you can work on the cutting edge, rather than trying to invest independently.

They will just corner market like De Beers. The prices may even inflate further.

Who the fuck else is going to be getting asteroids to mine?
