Just lost 1/3 of my stack on a dice roll game after 5X-ing my stack on pyramid scheme games. Why does the loss feel infinitely worse than the wins feel good

bump. honestly I just wanted to test a "gambling system" which I knew wasn't mathematically sound. Small bets for small gains, getting larger and larger. You only lose if you get ridiculously bad luck. Which I did. What are the chances of getting a 5 loss streak in a coin flip not once, but twice in a session? Fuck me, gambling is the devil's idea of entertainment.

A coin flip is a 50/50 situation. It does not affect the odds of the following coinflips. You could theoretically lose forever. Please don't gamble with your money.
Our brains are horrible at comprehending odds.

I know that. The behind these "systems" is that you win small 98% of the time and lose everything 2% of the time. I figured I could win small a couple times and stop. I lost on my second run.

There are no systems in gambling. Card counting would be a viable system. Thinking you can control when you win and when you lose is not a system, it's you having terrible judgment.

they did experiments where they found that losses hurt 7 times more than gains

There are systems that increase your odds of winning a given session, they're just not mathematically sound in the long run. For example the cancellation system, or the martingale system. And yes obviously using one of these broken systems shows terrible judgement. Once you start losing, something takes control of your brain and you lose the capacity to reason. It's fucking scary.
