10982452 No.10982452 [Reply] [Original]

"Holo is doing nothing less than reinventing the internet. No one else is doing that. If they realize their goals they will be the most important project in the world not just in crypto. The likes of Facebook, Twitter, Comcast, google and anyone else who has a vested interest in the current system not changing will fight this to all ends. Mt guess it the entrenched players will pay off (bribe) US politicians to make the holo technology illegal much like the fossil fuel industry buys off politicians. If they can pull this huge idea off though it will will be far more important than Bitcoin. Definitely worth a bet."

This might be the most insightful post I've read on Reddit. Is he right?

He's right. Although, the whole network is open and they are not an anonymous network so it's not somewhere the darknet would operate on. Many of these social networks are going to die. We already see people kind of over them are starting to grumble about them. New ones will rise up and take their place. Its evolution. They could try and compete though by building their network on top of holo and not taking hold of users data

The powers that be will likely prevent Holo from fruitition..otherwise how else can companies can keep profiting leaking users daily habits and Target advertise ad their markets. In the end corporate money rules, tree huggers not so much.

Based and red pilled

>Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dash etc..
Store of value, buying shit
>Monero
Store of value, hiding money, criminals
>Ethereum
ICOs

Notice something? It's all about money. Nobody gives a shit about decentralizing Facebook or Twitter. Wouldn't work anyway because Web applications of that magnitude will only perform well on centralized clusters. Holo is literally useless.

Except it's just decentralized hosting like iExec. It's not a decentralized internet. ISPs still control the bandwidth and who can see what. You're all deluding yourself into thinking you found some revolutionary shit all because the price doubled over a couple weeks. Guess what? RLC did the same shit when you pajeets were shilling that a few months ago.

Other questions will follow. Just answer this one first, my tech literate friend.

Better question to ask which is what I’ve been saying all along is do you really think this team of half retards can reinvent the Internet and in the process BTFO every major company and government? They’re literally a bunch of old hippie brainlets, none of which have any track record of success. The math for the protocol doesn’t even calculate properly, their entire project is basically a fucking giant balloon that once exposed to the real world in any fashion will pop instantly. I am all on board for people just making a quick buck off of this retarded project and the braindead normies who have helped pump it because of their idiocy, but anyone who actually believes this project will survive is a fool. I guarantee most people shilling have not even looked at the white paper nor do they have the intelligence to understand why it’s a huge red flag. And that’s really only the start of the problems. When you begin to look into the team and the project goals holochain becomes laughable. It is Occupy Wall Street in tokenized form. Look what happened there.

>> No.10987196

>>10984460

That makes no sense. It's a DHT not a blockchain, like a torrent it runs faster the more nodes there are running the Twitter-clone (ie seeding), and each one is adding its computation power to the mix.

>> No.10987318

>>10985657

Agreed about the team actually - they've basically decided to try and implement Postmodernist shit in software form. The tech is solid af though, I wouldn't use it for smart contracts or tokens, but as the backbone for dapps like BitChute or whatever it's not just good, it's fucking incredible. Better than Kadmelia for example, and that's saying something. What's wrong with their math? The whitepaper is incomplete sure, but not the important security stuff. I mean it's standard cryptographic proofs, not that much difference from a blockchain - each agent runs it's own local chain & can add entries to the shared table. Other nodes can verify ownership by looking at the hash - if I can so much as a single character in a function it throws out the entire hash & other nodes know I've lied about something & and won't treat my node as part of the dapp - meaning I fork into my own chain. There's nothing radical there though, using hashes for validation in merkle trees and whatnot is pretty standard stuff - they're just taking it to its logical conclusion. Combine that with the formal confidence score reasoning on page 6, and it seems solid. Specifically, what's the issue?

You have to realize that most people here don't understand basic PoW, consensus, etc. they can't even begin to discuss these things meaningfully
