How long does it take for bitcoin to be transferred to coinbase? I thought this new technology was instantaneous. My fiat is faster!

lol. no. litecoin is faster than bitcoin and safer than bitcoin cash. it has the liquidity required for large on chain transfers, and it's fees are cheaper than bitcoin.

*Bites into bait*

BTC is a completely different system compared to an ACH transfer. By only focusing on one metric (Apparent txn speed) you are not fairly comparing the two systems.

An ACH transfer is "faster" (often taking 2-3 business days) because nothing is really being transferred. The bank holds the money and is just shimmying numbers around. With Bitcoin, the "transfer" of "coin" involves an actual, irrevocable exchange of something (access to coin via a private key). An average of 10 minutes per txn is very fast *relative to the security and control that Bitcoin offers*.

Using Bitcoin is like becoming a bank. You are not acting as a customer with a custodial account owned by someone else. You are now in the driver's seat with increased rights and responsibilities. It was and remains a trade-off that people like myself were looking for and it remains useful. With developments on the way (such as the Lightning Network) the utility will oncrease in scope and scale.
