I've been trying to get a software engineering job for 2 fucking months and this happens constantly because I have experience across multiple languages but no strict expertise at one. So I can do Python, C++, C#, etc. but they will find someone who ONLY does C++ and will hire that person over me. So I spend time applying, 20 minutes to do an intro phone interview, then an hour doing a tech phone interview, than sometimes 2-3 hours on site doing tech interviews, and then wait for a response. Overall that's like 5 hours over 2 weeks, and I've turned down construction and other gigs that pay over 20 an hour waiting to get responses from these tech cunts. I have one last one this week and if I'm not getting it, I'm going to grab a job as a construction worker or something related that pays about 25 an hour and do my real hustle on the side. Become ultra successful and tell everyone in the tech industry to go fuck themselves.
Seriously this shit should be unacceptable. I dont even give a fuck that I haven't been hired, if they don't want me then fine, but the fact that they are okay with wasting so much of peoples time is fucking obnoxious.
