What tips do you guys have for using LinkedIn?

Are there any skills / interests I could put on my profile that will increase hits? I just joined the platform, have around 200 connections and I'm completing my fourth year in Information Systems in University.

Thanks.

We were in a similar boat, OP. I invited EVERYONE to be connections so I could get the "500+" on my profile. I even posted a few business messages and stuff to the public so my profile would get more views. I paid for one of those LinkedIn services that adds fake people and endorses you. I greatly embellished my achievements and even added some documents to my profile as "proof". I basically lied about my GPA (forged unofficial transcript) and faked/greatly embellished my Job XP and I landed a VERY cushy and high-paying job right out of college (majored in business from one of the lowest ranked colleges in America, now making over $70k and working 35 hours/week) thanks to it and then I deleted it so there's no evidence. Just remember that it's all for show. It doesn't matter if it's superficial, no one cares about you enough to poke around and ask your connections about you. Add fake volunteer experience, too. GL friend.

View lots of other people's profiles. Add people in the industry. Like and comment often. Share relevant articles once a week. Follow all their page optimizations.

LinkedIn is a bullshit boomer platform. Only worth having if you want to be endlessly contacted by bad recruiters offering you irrelevant vacancies. That said, I have 2,500+ connections on there, and I’m not sure how you wouldn’t if you were in a large city and industry and were even slightly active at networking IRL.
