I'm a computer engineer, if that counts for anything.

Intel is hardly fucked, but AMD is going to be kicking their ass for the foreseeable future. Epyc 2 is sampling THIS YEAR, while 10nm Xeon is due out in 2020. In the near term, AMD will have a slight disadvantage for single-threaded performance and a large advantage on core count, IO, and memory capacity.

Intel has cool things coming out soon. Optane DIMMs are really cool and I can't wait to get my hands on them. But their most important advantage of process dominance is gone for good. They will never again have a monopoly on high-performance x86.

Not an AMD drone. I own neither AMD processors nor AMD stock. But if I were building a server today, it would use Epyc.

If you're talking about a pine script I don't use one, trading view has fib pivots built in. Add pivots to your chart -> style -> Fib. But if you were to script them it is pretty much this:

R3 = Pivot + 1.000 * (H - L)
R2 = Pivot + 0.618 * (H - L)
R1 = Pivot + 0.382 * (H - L)
Pivot = ( H + L + C ) / 3
S1 = Pivot - 0.382 * (H - L)
S2 = Pivot - 0.618 * (H - L)
S3 = Pivot - 1.000 * (H - L)

check and compare it to put/call IV in the past. if its lower than usual, its "low" so to speak.

the more important way to look at it imo, is to look at your chart, determine which way you think its about to go, then check put/call IV. if you see it being "too low" compared to what you see as the likely volatility of the move, then its "low". if im super confident on the move, ill buy it just because of that fact alone.

i shilled it to everyone here on SLV the other week, and that was the day SLV dropped 5% in the morning. and im doing it on USO this weekend for the same reason. IV was WAAAY too low on those quarterly contracts on friday

i think youre grossly underestimating the amount of raw noise that has to be filtered through, especially thanks to the proliferation of smart devices

i totally agree that the IC/NSA/CIA/FBI are NOT out to protect us, nor our country, but to think that they can so easily find nutcases like this is a stretch imo. its simply not what theyre looking for senpai

the way a lot of those things work is that its constantly being recorded, and certain things will "flag" it, but it then needs to be wound back like a tape, and reviewed in full by some NTOC goon sitting in a room alone. its not like theyre all sitting there and watching EVERYTHING at the same time. thats simply impossible

also, id argue that if they DO this, and are successful, then we most certainly would NOT hear about it. as such, the times where they DO end up preventing it, are the ones well never hear about, whereas the ones that we DO hear about are when it was missed and resulted in a mass shooting that gets plastered all over the news in an effort to boost ratings

you really can't predict when one random person is going to go off.
doesn't matter how many times you spam the word "algorithm" there is no theoretical algorithm that could do that, nor have you even proposed the details of what they could be doing.

thats not how its done
its constantly recorded and monitored/flagged via algos, for sure

but when something actually big comes up and merits further investigation, they amass all of the data that the algos have accumulated and then some lowhanging fruit codemonkey has to sit through ALL of it. normally falls to the NTOC guys that arent terribly important (like snowden was)

sadly, like i said, they dont give a fuck about people planning shootings, so its not even on their radar in terms of things they even look out for, unless the govt or a govt official is directly involved.

you dont have to believe me if you dont want, idc, im just saying that its not quite as sci-fi as youre making it out to be. there is and will always be a human element to the way the NSA/NTOC investigates things. its augmented to terrifying new heights w the advent of complex sorting algos, but nonetheless, when something actually pops up on their radar, it gets assigned to a unit for in depth analysis

mass shootings just arent on the list of priorities because they dont fucking care in the slightest about protecting us

AMD no matter what idiots say, is on an uptrend, so whats the best moment? if you notice a small dip, put a fairly small long position, if it keeps going up good, if not, wait and open other longs on dip.

>I dont know if they all follow each other or not
they do and they dont desu
generally the indexes and treasuries inverse each other most of the time. they DO generally follow each other as well, but for reasons like rate hikes affecting the maturities differently, its always at different intensities.

imo, TLT should recede somewhat as the market goes mega bull, but it just HASNT for some reason. this was one of the things that got me thinking about foreign money coming in. and since every dollar spike has receded almost immediately afterwards, but w bonds more or less keeping their gains, id have to assume at least SOME of it is going in there

another thing that confuses me is how AWFUL the 2yr has done for the last couple years (w the 5yr not far behind). this extremely bearish market for notes and bills (the shorter ones obviously) is another one of the things that has me thinking about credit risk, and a possible sooner-than-later correction. im fairly certain that if 08 hadnt happened, and all the various restrictions on bond markets, as well as the artificially low rates for 8 years, and everything was back to the good ol days, that bond yields would have already flipped. this combined w how shit corporate debt (as well as the EM corp yield curve inverting months ago) has become has me thinking that the curve inversion isnt as much of a leading indicator this time, but more like an air raid siren. im just not confident that we can look at historical data for curve inversions and assume it will ever be like that again. too much has changed

its a hard one to call at this point.
i could see a spread flattening trade of short notes/bills and long bonds to be a relatively safe one. but wait and see if any of them dip first. we very well might be headed for a moonshot like the end of may due to EMs literally being on fire

Smoking is good too, but the decades long Zionist disinformation campaign against it has killed the market. Now that a new generation is consuming very high levels of nicotine thanks to the innovation of highly concentrated nic salts I predict we will see IQ scores sharply rise and rates of parkinsons and Alzheimer’s plummet. People will also be more spiritually connected because of the nicotine, rates of urban crime will fall and global violence will gradually cease. I’ve posted about it before in this thread, if we replaced fluoride in water with a nicotine solution and made consumption mandatory we would enter a new golden age of humanity in under a decade.
