Besides pissing of Zcash groupies, Monero has never been interesting. Unless there is another huge boom in clandestine transactions (illegal drugs being kept illegal, firearm bans, craigslist goes down, etc.) nobody is going to adopt it. Much like the Maytag Repairman, Monero is the boring face of laundering.

What the fuck does interesting have to do with anything? Not to mention people told me the same thing about bitcoin back in 2013 that you just said about monero only being useful for facilitating crime.

They might as well call this shit goycoin. Hopefully you can trust the "trusted setup" and they can't just keep creating more goycoin out of thin air. ..

I was once legitimately interested in this piece of shit, the deeper i dug the more I was turned off.

Would you care to post your bank account information online? How about letting the public track every purchase you make? You fine with us seeing that you buy 5 dragon dildos a month?

I'm willing to guess no. Privacy isn't about buying illegal stuff. It's about having control of your finances and no one else snooping into your shit and using that information against you.

https://blog.z.cash/funding/

Pretty nifty trick. They get their 20% while the circulating supply is at its lowest. With a market cap of 600 million, they have 120 million because reasons. This reward is undoubtedly the reason they're able to attract so much institutional investment. I won't call it a scam, but it's pretty fucking scammy

exactly. the interesting tokens are a lot riskier. monero is as safe as it gets. imo safer than bitcoin and much more profitable. there is no use for bitcoin i actually think bitcoin is going to $100 one day as a collectors item. someone name me one actual use for transparent blockchain that does nothing else but send/receive value. if you want to track something you just use one of the tracking token blockchains. you need to track products on a blockchain, not the money. the money needs to be private in order to be money. you wouldn't put a sign in your yard that says how much money you have would you? no because your risk of theft goes up. anyone with a lot of money is going to want privacy. all the big money bitcoin attracts eventually ends up in monero. it trickles down slowly and eventually all of it will come into monero and leave bitcoin forever. rich people, i repeat, DO NOT want their current amount of money available for the world to see at any given moment and be able to see when transactions occur and how much they occur with.

it's ridiculous to imagine a world with bitcoin as real money. privacy is a MUST

Have been screaming this for years. Btc's fungibility issues cannot just be hardforked away. When everything in the chain becomes completely transparent through increasingly sophisticated analysis, and fungiblr alternatives like monero are presented, people will dump their btc bags and miners will stop mining.

Writing is in the wall. Btc is doomed. But it still has a few moons in it left for sure
