The distribution maps to nothing of intrinsic value. We essentially need to trust that actors who have done of value to obtain the commodity (captchas and theft) won't prisoner's dilemma it into the a dip without bottom (remember no intrinsic value). Note that a significant percentage is also held by thieves.

It also hasn't reached sufficient value to attract attackers... like how Mac OS went ages without malware because big fat windows represented a larger attack surface. It wasn't that it was flawless, it was that effort spent attacking software used by orders of magnitude more people is more sensibly spent.

I can't put my trust in something with that distribution and that has never reached great enough significance to attract the lion's share of attackers.
