10790544 No.10790544 [Reply] [Original]

Not gonna give a sob story but I do have a shitty situation. My dad died two years ago and it just me my mom and my little sister. We went from decent life to welfare and now my dreams of collage have been shelved for the foreseeable future. I got 10k from my Dads inheritance and am trying to see if I can build a serious college fund with it and maybe more to help my mom who is struggling.

My point is genuine picks that will do well for the next couple of years? I've spent a week now try9ing to see which one to invest in but am pretty confused. Cheers in advance..

>> No.10790551

OP. Listen to me right now. If you can actually afford to invest that money, put it in a S&P 500 index fund and do not touch it when the recession hits. You will weather it.

Look. You can either listen to me or not. But I’m a whale in 2 top 10 coins and several other moonshots so I have a bit of knowledge. But I’m telling you with 100% certainty. Do not buy Chainlink, BAT, 0xbtc, HOLO, or anything else biz is shilling. These are scams. They won’t take off. If this thread gets any traction’s theyll be a cap about Ethereum not being worth 2 dollars. That is still true. It’s not.
In your situation I would invest in s&p and put some, not all, in bitcoin and monero.
You’re playing with fire if you buy any garbage shilled here. They are a bucket of crabs trying to shill their bags.
Good luck OP. Hope things get better

Wow you guys... Not even helping anon out... Horrible newfags, all of you.

Look OP, with 10k you need to buy a low market cap with strong fundamentals that got hit hard by the bear market. My suggestion: confido. Realm went down a lot, can only go up and when the bull returns (BTC went up 7% today so this might be closer than you think) it will go up insanely fast. Might very well make you a millionair.

I wouldn’t. I passed on it at ico. I don’t regret that. Can’t win them all because I would have a couple more bucks. But if it hits 2 dollars. Which isn’t far from what I think it will, it’s dead. You’re buying car wash tokens at that point. There will be a huge flash crash in ether. ICOs are gonna sumo their bags of free money on idiots. Ether is a Ponzi scheme

OP, listen to me. If you're not trolling, put your mom and sis down as dependents and join the military.. preferably air force but if not, army for the short 3-year contracts ( I was a navy SAR swimmer, hated the navy so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but if you're cool with being on a ship for months with little internet access aside from the normiest of normie websites then suit yourself). Find a MOS or rating which will translate into the civilian world(do NOT go on a combat job to die for israel, I was on a path to do so and I am SO glad it didn't work out), and save up your money. Having your mom/sis as dependents will allow you to get a lot more money (BAH) than you would as a single man. You will be able to take care of your mom/sis, and save up a lot of money which will fund your investments, crypto or otherwise. Don't waste 10k on fucking shitcoins, those are the equivalent of lottery tickets. You have actual humans relying on you to NOT fuck it up. My dad didn't die but I was in your exact shoes otherwise. After leaving the navy I have college paid for (not going tho, trading is my calling) and my mom/sis are set for life. Pic related, I would show previous (much higher) bank statements before I paid off my mom's mortgage but this should do.

Ditto on the guys telling you about sp500. I trade both crypto and stocks and have found success in both, but your situation struck a cord with me and I'll be damned if I shill you some bullshit pajeet scam. Posting from phone without auto correct so apologies for errors. Whatever your decision, good luck man.

Basically, everyone from affiliate marketers, dropshippers, crypto traders, stock traders and flip-flop dealers are interested in the decisions you made and the trials you went through to become successful. If that makes sense.
Also how you got started, what resources do you use to this day, what to avoid, what to focus on for the sake of time and success?
>lol fuck ppl man they should figure it out on their own
If that is the case then ok I suppose.

Sorry man I'm entertaining guests at a wedding so don't have enough timw to write. Indicators depend on market, RSI for example can be used sparingly for stocka but is pretty bad for crypto. Shit can stay under/oversold for a long time. Learning resources are the /biz/ reading list and to also learn the math/formulas behind indicatora. The latter helped a shit ton. Probably gonna get flak from other people here but do the entire babypips course. It teaches base-level shit and their jokes are the cringiest shit but it's a good start.

Dude I wouldn't mind typing a lot more but I don't have time, #1 thing not to do in crypto is over leverage. I got burned pretty hard in the beginning, very expensive lesson lol. Another thing is not to fall for pajeet shit. /biz/ has shilled me some great stuff like WTC and BNB. I found out about both from /biz/, and bought when they were sub 1.00. Key thing is to look at what is being shilled and actually investigate. Look at the development team. READ THE WHITEPAPERS. Analyze market cap. Compare to other coins (does this coin solve a problem? Are there other projects trying to solve the same issue? How are THEY doing it? Is there a working product or a deadline for such? Etc. Affiliate marketing and dropshipping are excellent, I met 2 guys who are successful with it but I do not envy the amount of hustle that they have to put into it every day.

Shit man I'm pretty hammered right now lol. Let's see, another thing NOT to do is panic when your coins dip. If you DYOR and determined that the project is solid and has a future, hold on to it. Buddy of mine had 5k BNB at $1.50 and anger sold when it dipped to sub 1.00. Called BNB a scam blah blah blah. Few months later look what happened. I too have fallen for some dips though so I can't judge.

Yeah I know what you mean. I want to write more info or at least write more coherently but I am absolutely blasted right now. Would love to get into the technicals of how to make it (charting, algos etc) but I'm not even sure if I'm writing correctly. Main thing is to always be reading. Also for full disclosure, crypto ia only 20% of my portfolio. Trading options is where I truly made it. I usually lurk in /smg/ for the memes so if someone calls out for help over there I will probably reply. Uhhh I'm fucking dying out here lol. Basically: READ a LOT, don't over leverage, follow thru on investigations, don't panic on dips, learn the math that indicators use, oh and very important, think like a market maker. Or a whale. Especially in crypto. No regulation means they can do whatever the fuck will make them the most money. Be on the right side of their movements. If you are always reading and can chart well, you will be a step ahead on this. Also think like a casino- you don't need to win 100% of the time. 60% wins will still net you profit over time. Also think like a game of baseball where you get to choose when to swing the bat with no penalties. So you can wait and wait and wait until thw homerun pitch comes along and you take it. You don't have to swing every time or win every trade but if you can land the big ones you will make bank.

Casino and baseball analogies are psychological but they help a LOT with discipline and taking profits. I'm out fellas, catch me on /smg/ lurking

We have IDs you know.
Also, I guess its just the times I am going through just because everything around me is collapsing and going from worse to worse doesn't mean I should be worried, right?
I found out that it is increasingly hard and most of the times even impossible/overwhelming to function overall - plan, strategize, research, organize, execute etc. I am also on a strict diet and training regimen, sometimes I even think that I am too strict but nevermind that.
My point is that i corrected the above anon and requested certain specifics so that if i can't benefit from his posts others that are reading can and will integrate his knowledge and practice into their game which is beneficial ofc and also since he is listening and responding very well the quality of discussion is improving so I am very happy that things are going this way and I think that it should always be like this and if its not we should be demanding that from ourselves first and then from others.
Thanks for the input, nevertheless. It is much appreciated. Have a nice and productive day, everyone.

My advice is to stay in traditional markets for the next year or two, and look into crypto when this board is dead / full of normal talk that isn't ALL crypto.

I thought we were bottomed a few weeks ago, so I threw in $20,000, and took out a $10,000 loss, because now it's clear we are nowhere near bottom.

Stay out. Build naturally.

I'd advice you to completely forget college, it's a joke nowadays, instead start learning system administration (just install linux and learn to deploy applications on it, deploy vms etc...) then look for certifications, people who have AWS certifications seem to find high paying jobs in no time. But you've been dealt shit cards and will need to give your best.
