Its because its centralized crap and flies in the face of Satoshis vision amd everything crypto stands for.
Tell me which one doesn't belong.
Bitcoin, the first decentralized currency
Ethereum, the first decentralized smart contract platform
Ripple, a glorified, centralized SMS service.

What you're actually looking for, what you want ripple to be and don't even know it, is, unironically, staring you in the face every time you visit this board.

Anon, this token has how many?

Max Supply

100,000,000,000 XRP

Circulating Supply

39,372,399,467

Its prices at .33 cents. That already very fucking generous. It only has room to fall. Now please think about the facts I have just stated

If this was priced at one or two dollars even

what is
100,000,000,000
So no. Sorry bye.

This is aside from the fact that ripples management vastly overstated ties to banking and were called out on it by a new York times journalist. There is also the issue that it is a centralised token and is not in any way 'crypto'

Past prices are not indicative of future performance. Particulrly with ripple as it has a LARGE supply and therefore requires a LARGE influx of capital. Many badly educated people were conned into buying it on the basis of 'something banks'

On that topic

"The fight erupted after Nate Popper, a New York Times journalist and author of a popular book on bitcoin, suggested that Ripple’s currency (technically known as XRP) is simply a tool for speculation and has little purpose in the real world.

Popper backed this up by claiming that bankers are not using XRP—a damning assertion, if true, since Ripple contends banks are embracing its currency as part of a larger shift away from the legacy money transfer system known as SWIFT. Here’s what Popper said:
"

http://fortune.com/2018/01/05/ripple-ceo-brad-garlinghouse-cryptocurrency-xrp/

But obviously ripple can experience no return to past heights without massive capital and that...is not happening. As time goes on ripples banking story gets worse not better

>> No.10766205

I would not buy XRP at any price, I have not faith in its management, its claims, its capability or the fact that elements of their management won't wind up in prison.

>> No.10766246

Ad XRP even against crypto is not really a trading pair with vide acceptance, its somewhere behind dogecoin. That should tell you all you need to know.

>> No.10766585

Past performances aren't indicative of future performance, right, but that wasn't my point and you know it. You said XRP couldn't go past 33c because of SUPPLY... so past prices with more or less constant supply DO prove that said supply isn't an obstacle to said prices...
The supply is irrelevant to the success of a coin... If the project is solid, money will flow in during a bull market and %growth is independant of coin supply. Like it or not, XRP is at the center of one of the few cryptocurrencies projects will a real team, support and adoption. Hell, it's probably even the only one supported by an actual company. Also, banks using Ripple's products are growing because Ripple offers an efficient solution to huge banking issues, resulting in profit for the banks who adopt said solution. XRP is only used in one of those products, which is currently not functional, so I don't see how stories would "get worse" when the stories haven't even begun...

I simply think Stellar is a better coin. More and more people are starting to agree with me too.

Governance, distribution, adoption, strategy, partnerships, advisors, potential, speed, wallets, side projects, leadership...

Stellar does everything better. That's honestly not surprising given what happened at Ripple when Larsen came on.

Frankly I trust deep pockets in Silicon Valley over deep pocketed Democratic political operatives and bankers. Stellar has a beter public image

No anon you just dont get it.

Its about how coins are distributed to everyone. The thing Ripple Labs (OpenCoin) did is the worst way, and thats currently the problem why coinbase didnt even say anything about adding ripple and the lawsuit if „xrp is security“ still isnt closed.

the launch of btc ltc eth was somehow fair- do work to get coins.

XRP just started the programm and a uint64 max_supply got a value.
