10763967 No.10763967 [Reply] [Original]

I collected the gross revenues of all the law firms associated with the Accord Project. What I found blew me away.

Basically the top 100 law firms on earth collectively gross $100billion USD in revenue. The total revenue of all the Accord Project firms are about $30billion. That's like 1/3 of the revenue captured by the best law firms on earth.

WTF. Imagine the increase in profit margin by these firms using smartcontracts.... with ChainLink providing the data.... holy fuck. I can't exactly value LINK properly, but it'll be worth a lot. OpenLaw and Accord both will use LINK.

AND THIS IS JUST THE LEGAL SERVICES INDUSTRY. THINK ABOUT ALL THE OTHER INDUSTRIES THAT NEED ORACLES.

I recommend digging into OpenLaw, looking for potential law firms partners. Unlike Accord, they don't have a full list of partners displayed in one place yet I believe. But as you've noticed, Accord has 6 of the top 10: where are the other 4? One of them is connected to OpenLaw (very fresh, August 15).

Why decentralize oracles that use a centralized data source? Why not build an easily deployable module that signs API responses from every request using a key pair which has it's pub key listed publicly. If any contract logic needs to be validated to be from the source, simply submit the signature along with relevant data proving the source sent the API response. You could even incentivize them with token based rewards.
